running, bomb tech

Before I sleep...

I just took one sleeping pill to help me conk out. This insomnia's bad for me. Sleeping pills are less bad.

Note: never go anywhere without a pen again. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Never distrust my perceptions to that degree again.

I know where the ghost lives now.

TMBG's "Why Does The Sun Shine" is a very good mellow-out cheer-up song.

Alan is very good at talking me through trance states and states of altered perception.

When Nephew starts screaming for Mommy, put up a godsly sphere of protection but fast.

"Why Does The Sun Shine" is an excellent mnemonic for keeping that sphere intact.

Never, ever, ever leave home without a pen again.

The lipstick mark on my breast, plus my impressive cleavage, had me picking mens' eyeballs out of the cleavage all evening. A picture of my cleavage, with the lipstick mark, may end up online for part of a web page for the art studio the party was at.

Denture goo doesn't hold in vampire teeth that are improperly fitted (with molten wax, finally) very well.

Champagne is very, very good.

A magical crisis and a hyper five year old will sober you up instantly.

Thank gods for the Temple of Denny's.

trick or treat?

I went for the first time last night. I went with Votania and Nephew and Alan. Alan did the driving; Sis and Nephew and I went up to the doors and knocked and rang the bells. We had fun.

I'm from Alaska, and we didn't have much in the way of neighborhood when I was the right size, and then my elementary school put together a carnival every Halloween weekend, and we went to that instead. My mom thought it was safer. Then when I was in high school, my friend River always threw these most fantastic parties. It was nice.

I never got to go trick-or-treating when I was a little fayoumis. It was a new thing for me. I got a small pile of candy, and it's a lot more fun, and a lot more variety, than going out and buying a couple bucks' worth on your own.
