Rant rant rant. Rant. Rant rant.

Yes, I'll have more words for certain people later, but rant. Rant rant.

Other than that...

...it's a nice, pleasant, peaceful morning. I have three books unlogged in 50bookchallenge (Running With the Demon, The Skies of Pern, Elvenborn) and another on the way (The Road to Mars, Eric Idle). That last one is quite appropriate, as last night I settled down with votania and marxdarx to watch some Monty Python (the tape with the episodes including the Unfortunate Phrasebook Sketch and the Spam Sketch and some Communist snogging).

Other good things for today include votania finishing a lovely necklace, and Little Fayoumis getting sent to his room for doing something after he'd been told not to (that's not the good part) -- without either the fire siren or the waterworks (that's the good part!), as well as a general feeling of happiness and well-being about, which is possibly contributed to by the fresh smell of something that must have been resembling breakfast.

Oh, and good music.

Woke up too late to be calling the Darkside, though. Ah well. I'll attempt to speak to him later in the week -- I'll possibly try calling sometime Monday evening, earlyish, as there is the possibility he'll be home, as his schedule's been screwed all to merry hell and not back yet.

*snicker* Book comparisons

So I was reading along in The Road to Mars, wondering why I found it so familiar. Then I realized --

-- it reminds me of William Shatner's Tek series. It's got the not-quite-cyberpunk future, the over-the-top plot, a less-than-reliable narrator-person, wacky robots... only Idle put far less cheese on than Shatner did, making it actually possible to taste the comedy. It's also, so far, much less dark.

Spam, email, etc. Roundup

"Images so beautiful your nuts will pop!"

Also, there is a n00b on the List. One can tell by the improper use of ellipsis, the rampant capitalization, and the comic-book punctuation.

There's some happy geek filk, too: http://thestarport.com/people/steve/Doc/Songs/oldtime.html

Happily, the Quote Pixie's coming back! Joy! I do so hate wading through oceans of irrelevant stuff left in by the careless, especially when it's quoting .sigs...

LMB news:

Paladin of Souls is just about ready. The Next Thing that she's working on is working title The Hallowed Hunt, another novel from the same world as The Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls.

Write, Lois, Write!

Drat.

Google is not yet geek enough to say, "Did you mean fhqwhgads?" when you search for fhqhwgads.

Drat. Drat, I say...

*giggle* Crossover time! I dare ya!

What I want to see? Blackadder/Harry Potter crossover. Need not have any romance or sex whatsoever. In fact, preferably not. Though Peeves/Baldrick is a match made in... well, wherever those sorts of matches are made. Assuredly not heaven.
