Saying "Alas!" on the phones is not swearing. It can stand in handily for other words that I can't say at work.

I am getting smoother at work. I still can tech like hell. Today was another good-stats day.

It's a rule.

Pink is for lesbians.

U-Haul has been reserved. Alert the media. For Saturday, so any insanity can happen on Friday.

The smoke ring gun ultimately did not fly. Alas. It was such fun at work, too! But there was a crackdown on blatant Playing with Toys, so no more smoke ring gun at work. That was a pity, as it was awesome fun watching my teammates be silly with it between calls.

I have not yet counted how many pieces of ice fit into my water bottle. It seems the sort of thing that I should do. I am in love with the ice machine.

What are we doing for Thanksgiving? (I swear when crazy!month is over I'll be more sociable.)

Tonight involved His & Her Circumstances, which is as much love as I remember it being from watching bits & pieces at UAO.

I'm afraid I have a sore throat brewing. I will try to avoid this as much as possible.

Good idea: using blocked senders to keep known spammers from getting to you. Bad idea: blocking support@$REGISTRAR.TLD by accident, then trying to get things like an auth code. Fun call. Will add that to my list of tips and tricks for troubleshooting stuff. Oh! Then there was the lady who was having email woes -- trouble was, she didn't have her email with us. Woops.

One of the red cube badge guys has resorted to CAPTCHAs to make sure that we peons are reading the red badge cube whiteboards. It's not distorted, he just puts up a "Say __" notice, to see if there is any observant intelligence anywhere in the peon troubleshooting process. Often enough there is not. I'm a compulsive reader, so I will see these. Others ... not so much.
Gone away, gone ahead,
Echoes roll unanswered.
Empty, open, dusty, dead.
Why have all the Weyrfolk fled?

Where have dragons gone together
Leaving weyrs to wind and weather,
Setting herdbeasts free of tether;
Gone, our safeguards, gone, but whither?

Have they flown to some new weyr
Where cruel Threads some others fear?
Are they worlds away from here?
Why, oh why the empty weyr?
