Connie has scored OK on the Mary Sue Test. This is Good, because she is in fact a bloody Mary Sue in that she's a slightly idealized version of me, going through some of the same stuff. But she's not super-idealized, happily.
Connie is suspiciously similar to you as you'd like to be. She is not at all cool; in fact, she thinks cool is a temperature reading, and when she says "Oh, I just put on whatever old thing's lying around," she means "on the floor, where I threw it last night - but I turned the underwear inside out first." She may have sometimes thought that she was special, or destined for greater things, but probably dismissed the idea as a fantasy. She's got no emotional scars to speak of. And you've been sparing with the free handouts: whatever she gains, she's worked for.
In general, you care deeply about Connie, but you're smart enough to let her stand on her own, without burdening her with your personal fantasies or propping her up with idealization and over-dramatization. Connie is a healthy character with a promising career ahead of her.

She could, however, stand to lose a few more Battles with the Ick in home exorcism.
I'm at home drinking lots of herb tea. Mama sent me a shiny cup from which to drink it! A "raku buddy" of hers made it. They have similar styles, but there's a very distinct difference. Nice big cup. Holds more than it looks like it holds. Mama's box was fun. She sent a random holiday gift (hot chocolate!), a Solstice gift (jam, yay!), a Christmas gift (mug!! with tea!!!), and a New Year's gift (which squeezes like a chocolate orange).
They will probably call later. I'm still all dizzytired, but feeling a lot better in general. (The phone rang just then, but it was a wrong number. So I called Dawn. I shall relay holiday greetings to Darkside, and Dawn will call back after she's off work. ralmathon has called Dawn, after I have pestered him to. Yay, being the switchboard operator!)

Born-Again! By accident! metaquotes. Context may not be suitable for those who take their religion seriously. (She was at church, reading the story of Esther to stay awake, got nagged to go up front, went up front, and ... well.)
