One of those days. Just one of those days. I'm still having a hard time processing.

I think I've reached my quota of end-user screaming-at for the day. Doesn't take
much to get it out of my system. Had a delightful chat with Traveling Manager about
the realities of her e-mail system, and how the recycle bin in her e-mail is not the
system recycle bin. I compared it to the trash can in her car vs. the trash can in
her office or home; even though the car may be parked in the office parking lot, it
is designed to be mobile, and therefore carries its trash with it.
It's an analogy that breaks down a lot (unintentional pun! I swear!) but it's
sufficient to get the concept across.
The real screaming happened elsewhere, of course. I'm operating purely personally in
that context. Friends poked me the other day about an acquaintance of theirs (but
not mine) who had a hit tracking counter and didn't know the problems with how she
was using it, and had created drama out of said friends' use of their friends page,
use that only involved her at a tangent. Passive-aggressive posts piled upon each
other, resulting in a chain of passive-aggressive comments, and then a nice little
screamfest from me.
The person is not the misunderstanding. The person is not their misunderstanding.
The person is not their misunderstanding. The person is not defined by their
misunderstanding. The misunderstanding is not the only thing about the person. The
misunderstanding and willingness to create drama where none existed before that is a
really prominent feature of the person, but that is not the entirety of the person,
and I'm sure if we got to know each other I would find several admirable traits and
we might get along very well. Then again, we might not. The person is not their
misunderstanding. The person is not their misunderstanding. Repeat. Wash the
Staying late tonight because I got in late tonight and HEY PIRATES.
Tonight is a documentation night; I'm working on documenting my database. In between
that, I clear the brain. So there may well be babbling.
