Battle dress.

Hooray workday. Hooray cherries.

Oh god I am such a dork. Three-handed debates for the win.

But I am dressed for battle. I am wearing Naomi's ring today, and the snake ring (I need all the snake mojo I can have today, I think; this is not an academic's meeting that I'm walking into), my group earring in the right ear, a little pink sparkly square earring in the left (the one I wore last year's Feb 14th when doing the sushi thing), my hero bracelet, my beads in my hair, the blue cane glass necklace from V, and blue stockings. And lipstick.

*pokes brain* Yep, still whole. I think I have one or two bags of the tea left, the tea that was evidently calculated to short-circuit my brain and leave it purring. Except where it doesn't, not anymore.

I'd be worried that I have permanent damage from the hasty actions I took, but my emotions aren't exactly dead. Yes, there's activity going on there behind the wall, but I'm not going to step behind that wall to find out what's going on. But the stuff that's coming through is largely strength, and I feel very secure and strong. I couldn't bear losing my best friend, but I'm a cherished daughter of Diana. This is the season for that, and so I shall be.

The kids from last night struck again. Oi.

I stand alone, all flags flying.
Gone away, gone ahead,
Echoes roll unanswered.
Empty, open, dusty, dead.
Why have all the Weyrfolk fled?

Where have dragons gone together
Leaving weyrs to wind and weather,
Setting herdbeasts free of tether;
Gone, our safeguards, gone, but whither?

Have they flown to some new weyr
Where cruel Threads some others fear?
Are they worlds away from here?
Why, oh why the empty weyr?
