What I did today:

(Today is Friday. Friday is my Saturday.)

Woke up, played around on LJ.

Took hcolleen to work.

Poked at Target: failed to find the 9-cube shelf I was looking for, but did find a Plantronics bluetooth headset (hi! Brand loyalty!), some jelly shoes and kitten heels (both on sale, though the jelly shoes were very, very on sale), and some assorted other stuff. I came home and immediately put the jelly shoes on. These are my first jelly shoes!
hcolleen got mail; the doorbell rang and I zipped over to answer it. Turns out new jelly shoes are nearly frictionless against fake tile. Did not fall over, did have a fun running-and-going-nowhere moment.

I've been reading fic off and on all day, so when I saw the request for a pic on some old fic (I was looking through back entries in my journal yesterday) I sketched it out. And of course since it was sketched it needed scanning in. So out came the scanner. And once it was scanned in, it needed filling out. And once it was filled out, it needed color. It still isn't finished finished, but it is to where you can almost fill the rest in somewhere inside your head. It's a little quicker and easier to edit than painting, but then it's harder to get done to where it's finished.

I think my clothing for the company party is going to wind up being the disco ball dress.
We cannot get a puppy! I loathe small dogs. A dog's got to be at least twice Ryoga's apparent displacement, including some more height, before I'll consider it not-small. A border collie is about the smallest thing I think I can get along with.

Today has rain.
Gone away, gone ahead,
Echoes roll unanswered.
Empty, open, dusty, dead.
Why have all the Weyrfolk fled?

Where have dragons gone together
Leaving weyrs to wind and weather,
Setting herdbeasts free of tether;
Gone, our safeguards, gone, but whither?

Have they flown to some new weyr
Where cruel Threads some others fear?
Are they worlds away from here?
Why, oh why the empty weyr?
